We had already been working in schools and mental health organizations for more than 20 years when on January 4, 2001 we created The Positivity Company: The Science of Well Being (Originally called Rejuvenate, Regard and Respect, LLC.). We started it because we felt then, and continue to feel now, that teachers and students in the educational system and clients and therapists in the mental health system are not treated with enough respect and positive regard. Following the old Sierra Club maxim “think globally – act locally” we began to do what two psychologists from a small New England state can do to create a more positive world. It remains our joy and passion.
